So, I just discovered this recently. Turns out that there are some neat programs out there that can randomize types and such for emulated ROMs of older games in the series. I'm doing a run of Emerald in this manner, and it's quite hilarious. Here's some screens of my team right after beating Wattson (Abra was my starter).

Their movepools are also very random, such that PUFF knows Crabhammer and Needle Arm, for example.

This is fairly interesting. It's kind of like getting new pokemon...if all of the old pokemon were scrapped, then the first three generations worth were replaced with completely random copies constitutes as new... Speaking of, I chose Exeggcute over Tropius and Mankey as my starter, and so far, it's been worth it:

lol, Boomy just got Hydro Cannon too. With a special attack stat like Kadabra's, everything just dies. Good luck on your run, Kiga.

Last time I did this I was playing Black 2 and I got a Salamence on the first route (non-randomized types or stats. Randomized moves/abilities) with HUGE POWER and it knew Dragon Claw and Earthquake. EZ game EZ lyfe

I tried this a while ago, but I ended up with one starter having explosion and the other having memento, I just can't progress. o_O
I'll try again this summer.
