I've noticed recently purple users referred to as bots on the online list.
Can someone explain to me what these are? Is ggogle/yahoo/whoever actually alive and reading our forums?
Can someone give me some insight on this?

I don't understand it all fully myself, but if I had to make a logical guess it would be the search engines' bots swarming around for stuff to display in searches.

They're gray, not purple.
And yes, it's just the crawlers indexing all the posts.

Actually, as webmaster and template editor, I'm pretty sure it's not magenta.
