Okay, it's about 10 at night and I click a button to view someone's profile. Screen loads, and my computer's screaming at me. I jump about five feet and fall out of my chair.

Can someone get rid of that FD3 ad? It's driving me crazy!!

I do not see ads at the top of my screen.

Why?

Because I have disabled javascript. If you are using FireFox, go to Tools > Options > Web features > uncheck the javascript box. If you use IE, I have no idea how to disable javascript.

Here's how you can disable Javascript on Internet Explorer (IE 6 only).

~Click on the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.

~The Internet Options window will popup. Click on the Security Tab.

~To ENABLE JavaScript, make sure the security setting is set to "Medium". If the display reads "Custom Settings", click the "Default Level" button near the bottom right to reset the security settings to Medium.

~To DISABLE JavaScript, click the "Custom Level..." button. The Security Settings window will popup. Scroll down for the heading Scripting near the bottom. There are a few options under Scripting: "Active Scripting", "Allow paste operations via script", and "Scripting of Java applets". Set "Active Scripting" to "Disabled".

~Click OK to close and save the changes to Security Settings.

~Click OK to close Internet Options.

~Close and restart the browser.

I do not see ads because I am using Firefox and Adblock. I've removed every ad from these pages and most of the other sites I generally visit. This is reason number 382 why Firefox is awesome.

Okay Jiggz tell me this one. :P

Is there a way to get rid of these ads on Mozilla, yet still be able to get the pop-window for new privates messages?

I've downloaded the adblock extension, but what URL do I use to only block the ads at the top?
:?

I think *some* ads will still appear, even when you disable Javascript. The one that was screaming should stop, though. The rest of the ads are just images. Right click it and go to "Block images from somerandomsitehere.com."

Well then, either don't visit the forums at these times of the day, or bear with the ads. There's nothing we can do about the ads.

I have blocked ads.ign.com/* among others. That one takes care of the majority of the ads here. Embed and IFrame objects are generally the ones to look out for. Also, Adblock will often flash a red border around the object if you select it in the list, but don't click OK right away.

Grr >_< I remembered that I have McAffee, Spyware Killer (I think that's what it's called) and some other virus/popup/spam/spyware/ad blockers...only issue, I haven't installed 'em yet >_<

I'll install them then get back to you if they don't work.
