Okay, if you have a wander off to Pokebeach forums, you will see that they have this kind of Gym Leader thing set up. However, it is way disorganised (hooray for stupid spellings) and I was thinking that perhaps we could have something similar here.

The idea is to have a Gym Leader that you organise to battle online against (that is a member of the forum.) at a specific time.


I thought at first that perhaps we could have eight Gym Leaders, and yuou get badges for each gym you beat, and when you defeat them all, you get a cool badge, but that was a bit similar to what they had.

So instead, I thought that perhaps we could have a tournament within each of the teams to decide the leader within them, and then we could have five Isle Warriors (or some snazzier name) that each hold the Inferno, Hydro, Midnight, Solar and Psyche badge accordingly.

However, since my organisation skills equal my knowledge (and therefore love) of sport I wouldn't know how to set this up.

So, could members, moderators, super moderators, and admins please post their suggestions here as to how it could be organised, and how we can choose leaders (and if this is a good idea anyway!)

Do post sensibly, not like "ZOMG, i so wana be jim leeder for Teem kool," but good stuff, like:

We did this a few years ago, it was called the Psypoke Challenge 2, and it was a complete disaster because:
- The person who was supposed to be running it failed at life
- The Gym Leaders were extremely difficult to get a hold of
- Some Gym Leaders were simply not competent battlers

A few years before that, we did the Psypoke Challenge 1, and it was... a flop because of the availability (or lack of) of the Gym Leaders.

I believe what you're suggesting is more of an inter-team competition than a competition between regular members and the Staff, correct? In that case, it's a pretty good suggestion, but the decision would mostly be up to the Team Leaders.

This was my idea, that could be kind of tweaked:

In each team, there will be a big tournament between all those who sign up. Each winner of each tournament, will become the respective "Gym Leader" of that team.

Then, normal members would challenge those winners and organise dates when they could battle, and if they won, those players would be allowed a "badge" on the trainer card, telling all those that see it of how dominant they are at battling, and then if they defeated every leader, they would get a Psypoke Champion badge or something <s>cliche</s> cool like that.

Obviously, as TK said, the winner would have to be someone who frequents Psypoke enough to be considered active enough to battle challengers, but I think it would be a cool idea.

However, organisation is not my forte, and thus suggestions could be posted here as to whether or not the above needs changing, or whether I should just go back to playing the DS solo.
