For the advanced generation (ruby/sapphire) I have some suggestions of changes to the site's standard EV suggestions. I think it'd help loads to some people regarding time saving even if it does seem a minute point:

for RUBY instead of, for attack EV battling trapinch, use corphish (super rod petalburg city) since encounter rate is 100%

for sapphire and ruby, instead of geodude or anybody found with rock smash for defense EVs, just battle aaron found in granite cave.
