Can someone please tell me why the following epsiodes are banned (I think I know one):
Beauty And The Beach
The Legend Of Dratini
Electric Soldier Porygon
Slowkings Day (I'm not sure whether it's banned but it hasn't been shown anywhere other than Japan).
Raikou! Legend Of Thunder
Just Waiting On A Friend (has been shown in JP & US but nowhere else)
The Ice Cave!
Brock Save Pewter Gym!
Revenge Match In Cerulean Gym!
Tough Battle, Team Rocket Enter!
Epic Battle At Oak's Lab
You should know I know that the later ones have been broadcast in JP but nowhere else but I don't know if they're banned.

I was originally much more in-depth, but Internet Explorer just ate my post...
Beauty and the Beach: James wore a skimpy bathing suit that gave him giant boobs. He flaunted them in front of Misty. It aired in America without the two bathing suit scenes. As to why it hasn't aired since, your guess is as good as mine.
Legend of Dratini: The warden of the Safari Zone was very gun happy. He put his gun against Ash's head and opened fire at Team Rocket during their motto. A bit too violent to be brough over to America.
Electric Soldier Porygon: Banned worldwide. It aired once in Japan and gave hundreds of children seizures. Even if the dubbers wanted to do this episode, they can't; the Japanese government locked it up.
The Ice Cave: Jynx is seen as a controversial racial stereotype and was featured in too much of this episode for it to be brought to America. Jynx has recently been recolored purple in the Anime, so this shouldn't be a problem again.
I believe Just Waiting on a Friend has aired around the world; I haven't heard any complaints from a person from the UK, for example, about this episode not airing. If it is indeed not being shown around the world, my only guess is that the storyline is a bit too Japanese, even if the English dub eliminated a lot of those references.
The other episodes you mentioned are indeed special episodes that have aired only in Japan. There's been many other Specials besides the one you listed; current belief is that this new Pokemon Chronicles show will be most/all of the Japanese specials. Personally, I believe that they weren't dubbed earlier because 4Kids was scared about airing an episode without Ash and Pikachu.

How did the Porygon episode give children seizures? That's something I've always wondered about. If you think it's not suitable to be discussed here then you can don't answer me.

Something about all the sudden flashes of lights and colors. In fact, someof the new games for the GCN say before the games main menu, about seizure warning (Power Tennis is one of them, this is where I first saw it). But I'm too lazy to type the whole warning, it takes up the entire screen and shows it for like 5 seconds. But enough rambling, Peace Out!

Ahh. I think that missiles were being launched and flashed Red & Blue really fast.

From clips I've seen and synopsis' that I've read about the episode, the following went down: Everybody goes into cyberspace with Porygon to fix the transport system of the Pokemon Centers. Things pretty much go as planned until the group are about to leave; the computer's anti-virus system sends two missiles to attack Porygon. Pikachu uses a lightning attack and causes the missiles to explode.

As Ash celebrates in the scene above, the background of that shot is nothing but bright red and blue lights flashing repeatedly for a period of like 15 seconds. Bright flashes of any kind can cause seizures if you're likely to get them; Americans never got seizures from Pokemon because TV Tokyo went back to the episodes before Electric Soldier Porygon and tamed the flashing effects like those from Pikachu's electric attacks. Even if you watched the episode online, the strobe effect is severly limited because of your computer.

I see. Poor kids
Can't they just remove that scene and continue to show that episode? I thought that part about the anti-virus program was cool.

That's what a lot of people thought, that it would be really easy just to edit out the flashing scene, or tone down the effect of the lights. But after the episode originally aired, the Japanese government locked it up and it doesn't look like they're going to change their minds about airing it again. Too much bad publicity and bad memories over the whole situation, I'd think.

I think Electric Soldier Porygon has a good reason not to be aired. But the other episodes didn't need to be banned (beauty and the beach could go through if the bathing suit scenes were cut, that's too much for kids).

Here's a rather lenghty report on Electric Soldier Porygon: http://www.elfis.net/phorum/read.php?f=2&i=94&t=94. It also includes a link to a slowed down scene of the flashes. Though I wouldn't take the risk. And also. Beauty And The Beach's scence's were James was took up a lot of the episode so it would be rather short and choppy without them.

They've already dubbed and aired Beauty and the Beach (which is the dub title of that particular episode, by the way); they snipped out the two scenes with James and only about 35 seconds of footage was lost. More footages was cut out in the Snow Way Out! episode because Meowth was playing with matches, for crying in the mud...

Snow Way Out! I saw that one. And if people are being so anal, not to sound Anti-Pokemon but James seems really gay. (Please don't ban me, we all know it's true). So why don't they quit James on the show? See, that's what I don't get about some people.

That's true. But I wouldn't like James outta the show. Though he is gay, he is a nutter, and I like funny characters!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't James engaged to someone called Jesibel?

Yeah....But did he want to marry her? James is terribly afraid of every single girl (including Jesse). He is Brock's opposite.
(of course, that's what I think...)
Anyway, that's not what we're discussing...Let's just forget about James's sexuallity (maybe we can post it somewhere else) and move on with the banned episodes.

I for one think that Frost took the time to write up a nice long post explaining the banned episodes. Perhaps you could read that. [Ignore the preceding text, the posts it responded to have been deleted.]
Frost, just a suggestion, but I was thinking It'd be a good idea if you put a page in the Anime section with the banned/unaired episodes and you can put your summaries of why they were banned here.
