Actually, you can get any, and I mean ANY, move in the game database when you use Metronome. Some of the attacks that my Clefairy did with Metronome back in the older versions are Splash, Explosion, Hyper Beam, Zap Cannon, etc. Basically anything under the sun
I wouldn't use it for battling competitively though, due to its unreliable nature.

Has anybody ever gotten the 3 "Elemental" Hyper Beams with Metronome? 'Cause that'd be cool...
As for Metronome...only high-Speed Pok

As sNOwBaLL pointed out, Metrnome is unpredictable in battle, but always makes it fun and interesting. If you're just doing a friendly battle with your best friends little brothers best friend, then I would use it.

Like the others were saying, it'd only be good for a fun battle, I remember using it in RBY, I got garbage like Splash, Growth and Leech Life during a Gym Battle. <sarcastic>Yeah those really helped</sarcastic>/

Actually there are a few moves that you CAN'T get with Metronome.
The most obvious one is Metronome itself :p
But you can't get Struggle or Sketch. Otherwise EVERY Pokemon with Metronome would have the potential to learn any Sketchable move.

The coolest move I ever got was Frenzy Plant. The only time I think you should use Metronome, Aerodactyl727, is in a Metro battle (with me), which reminds me, I need to get working on my Metro team.

Here's a thought, can you get Transform? that'd be strange if you sharked it on a Lugia and it used transform on something like Magikarp.
Lugia used Splash!

Something with hardcore defense so you can pull off a lot of tries.

I've noticed the lesser the level of the pokemon you use Metronome on the less powerful the resulting move will be. Vice-versa for more powerful pokemon.

Oh, that reminds me of my dramatic first battle with Gary, after lance all I had was my mew, I had fouht gary to his blastoise who was weak, but all mew could use was metronome, i took my chances, what did it use? Selfdestruct!!!!!!! And I lost a TON of money because back in RBY mother wasn't a bank, just a hotel.

I had Metronome on a Mewtwo back in Red, because it couldn't get KO'ed, so I could get plenty of tries
Also, it's cool when Mewtwo does stuff like Splash.
