Moves:
Surf
Ice Beam
Earthquake
Mud Shot
Earthquake or mudshot. Superior power, or speed decrease? Curse or Rest in the last spot. Also, the nature - why +Speed, -SpAtk? Usually a -Speed nature is used, because his speed sucks. Brave is probably the best nature.
@ Brave, Overgrow
Moves:
Leaf Blade
False Swipe
Strength
Dragon Claw
Crunch > Strength - yes, you must breed Take advantage of his superior Special attack. Leech seed/thunderpunch/hp ice > false swipe.
@ Naughty, Blaze
Moves:
Fire Punch
Sky Uppercut
Double Kick
Blaze Kick
Fire punch + Blaze kick - why? Flamethrower or FireBlast instead. No need for double kick with sky uppercut. Rock slide instead. Also, Swords dance in the last spot.
@ Relaxed, Static
Moves:
Thunder
Thunderpunch
Hyper Beam
Rain Dance
Hyper Beam? HYPER BEAM????!!!?! No, probably one of the worst moves. Also, thunder-dancing is only good if you have hidden power type of water. Anyway, thunderbolt, thunderwave, firepunch, and hidden power ice/grass or brick break.
@ Gentle, Keen Eye
Moves:
Thief
Aerial Ace
Blizzard
Fly
:O No. Surf, Ice Beam, Theif is okay I guess. Aerial ace is okay, though safeguard serves better.
@ Brave, Trace
Moves:
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Dream Eater
Psychic
Shadow Ball? Dream Eater? no. Psychic, T-bolt, calm mind, hypnosis/will-o-wisp. That is the standard.
Blasteed wrote: Can you rate my cacturne?
It currently has Jolly nature, item leftovers
attacks:
-Leech seed
-Ingrain
-Giga drain
-Substitute
I basicly use cacturne to be a tank and heal itself every single turn, plus using substitue leaves me with no problem about cacturne's health, and using giga drain heals more
Leech seed is good. Focus Punch > Ingrain (very redundant for ingrain and leech seed). Teeter Dance > Giga Drain (5pp sucks). Shadow Ball > substitute (ghost + fighting has no resist).

Sunny Day
Aerial Ace (any suggestions for better flying-type moves?)
No. Actually, Razor Leaf > Solar Beam. Don't rely on sunny day. Aerial ace shall stay (no other move). Leech seed > Synthesis. Return > Sunny Day. @Leftovers.
@ Blaze
Blaze Kick (STAB and Sunny Day bonus)
Quick Attack (Soon to be Sky Uppercut - not high enough level yet)
Slash
Mirror Move
No. Flamethrower > Blaze Kick (power). Rock Slide > Slash. Swords Dance/Bulk Up > Mirror Move. @Shell Bell from the bulk up. you will get back a lot.
@ Levitate w/ Quick Claw
Dragonbreath
Crunch
Screech
Rock Tomb
Dig. This is one of the only times I will reccomend it. Dig > Rock Tomb with the bad accuracy. No Quick Claw - maybe lum berry or leftovers.
@ Drizzle
Hydro Pump
Calm Mind
Body Slam
Ice Beam
Thunder > Body Slam. Rain Dance is activated, so, yeah. Surf > Hydro Pump (accuracy). LEftovers as an item.
@ Sturdy
Thunder (making full use of Kyogre's Drizzle)
Metal Sound
Tri Attack
Supersonic
Looks good. No idea for the item.
@ Rock Head
Sandstorm
EQ
Iron Tail
Take Down (Soon to be replaced by Double-Edge - thank you Iron Head)
I would have kept metal claw > Iron tail for accuracy. Brick Break > Sandstorm. Choice band if you can.
The point of my team is to encompass a wide range of moves (at last count i had 12 different types, (13, when Blaziken learns Sky Uppercut) that all are Super-Effective against a few of E4's pokes. And for those of you worrying about running out of PP, I have 3 elixirs and 3 max elixirs, so it shouldnt be a problem
I also have a few PP Ups, and assorted vitamins - I just dont know which attacks/pokes to use them on. Any help here?--
Use them on the pokemon that need EV training.
All of them should be around level 60 or so, so try not to use OOber level up attacks that can only be gotten at level 75
Most of my Pokemon's items strengthen an attack (ex. Blaziken with charcoal), but Tropius has a King's Rock and I couldnt find anything for Magneton.
I made item suggestions.
I dont have GS or AR or any of those cheat devices, so I can only give my pokes moves that can be achieved in-game
Lol, right.
EDIT: And i cant be bothered with trying to work out anything to do with breeding (natures, good DV values, genders, and stuff like that), so there is no need to talk about that
EDIT: Battle Tower Team
@ Keen Eye
Shadow Ball
Feint Attack
Confuse Ray
Fake Out
Substitute > Faint Attack. Ghost and Dark cover the same types. Focus punch is powerful, so that > Fake out. Confuse Ray helps you stay alive.
/ (not sure whether to use thunder stone)
T-Bolt
Toxic
Return (could be powerful, evolved from a Pichu)
T-wave
Keep it as a Pikachu if you don't mind breeding for volt-tackle. evolve to raichu otherwise.
Unsure about third poke
What would be a good type to be covered by pika's weakness to ground, while still being covered by sableye/pika?
Possible choices are Machoke, Gyarados, Kadabra, Lunatone, Pinsir, Psy/Golduck, Swellow, Gol/Crobat, Sharpedo. I have a large list of other pokes, these are not my only choices
I am open to any suggestions, including a team comprised fully or partially of pokemon from the list.
Lanturn > Pikachu, Gardevoir/Alakazam in the last spot.

I use Sunny Day to negate Kyogre's Drizzle, but i'll take your word for it and remove. Where do i get leftovers? I can use some berries instead.

Ive been looking for something to replace faint attack, thanx. Ill take focus punch too. But, Sableye cant learn substitute in emerald... how about Secret Power - it's in Battle Tower,so that paralyzes. Paralyze and confuse, then focus punch away...How about Toxic...i like toxic...

This is my Emerald version team. I had a simple one-on-one battle with a friend in mind. I like using Double Team. I was hoping for some suggestions on making it more effective for those in my team who know it. I've tried other combinations and I'm still working on them.
@ ?
Calm Mind
Double Team
Psychic
Thunderbolt
or
Calm Mind
Double Team
Hypnosis (to buy time to build up stats)
Psychic (Or Thunderbolt?)
@ ?
Dragon Claw
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Double Team
@ ?
Earthquake
Solar Beam
Thunderbolt
Dragon Claw
@ Leftovers or Quick Claw (to compensate for atrocious Spd?)
Toxic
Mean Look
Double Team
Protect (I planned to alternate between this and D. Team after trapping my opponent.)
@ ?
Roar
Spikes
Double Team
Protect (I really don't mind altering these last two moves.)
@ ?
Recover
Reflect
Light Screen
Ice Beam
My Latios' main purpose here is support, and to fight back if need be. Protective moves are generally helpful in many RPGs I've played, so I thought, why not use them here? It might be a shallow thought, but I think it will work.
Also, I have a Suicune in Colosseum that I am preparing. The moves I would like to use for him are as follows:
Ice Beam
Mirror Coat
Rest
Sleep Talk
Which Pokemon should I substitute him for, should I choose to do so?
Thanks for the time you all take to rate our teams

WoW, TBolt, Psychic and Calm Mind is the standard. WoW lowers opponents Attack, indirectly raising your defence. Calm Mind is a must. Sweep with T-Bolt and Psychic. Leftovers.
@ ?
Dragon Claw
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Double Team
You are obsessed about DT, aren't you? :3 Let me tell you, Double Team is NAWT a good move. @ Shell Bell. Crunch and EQ > Dragon Claw and Double Team. NO-ONE resists the combination of Ice-Electric-Dark-Ground.
@ ?
Earthquake
Solar Beam
Thunderbolt
Dragon Claw
Groudon has higher attack then SA, so take advantage of it and not it's ability. IMO, EQ and Solar Beam should stay. Bulk Up and Rock Slide > TBolt and Dragon Claw. Lum Berry if you have it, Salac or Leftovers if you don't.
@ Leftovers or Quick Claw (to compensate for atrocious Spd?)
Toxic
Mean Look
Double Team
Protect (I planned to alternate between this and D. Team after trapping my opponent.)
Well... your Dusclops is a Toxi-Trapper so it needs no speed. Lefties IMO. Your moveset is good.
@ ?
Roar
Spikes
Double Team
Protect (I really don't mind altering these last two moves.)
Toxic, Roar and Spikes are musts on this guy. Attach Lefties. I'd suggest AAce for the last spot but DT is just as fine.
@ ?
Recover
Reflect
Light Screen
Ice Beam
RIOT. Attach a Soul Dew, and give it Recover, Ice Beam, Dragonbreath and Psychic. YOU ARE WASTING LATIOS. The best Special Sweeper IMO.
My Latios' main purpose here is support, and to fight back if need be. Protective moves are generally helpful in many RPGs I've played, so I thought, why not use them here? It might be a shallow thought, but I think it will work.

Dunno. Your team seems alright to me.

Magical Leaf in the second spot. Leech Seed > Synthesis (horrid pp). Spikes > Solar Beam. Not much else (a shame - excellent stats, no movepool). @Leftovers, its almost always more useful. Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk) Nature is good. 252 Sp.Atk EVs, 252 Speed EVs, the rest in hp.
blaziken @ leftovers
blaze kick
rock slide
sunny day
sky uppercut
Flamethrower/Fire Blast > Blaze Kick. Swords Dance/Bulk Up > Sunny Day. Much more useful. The rock slide and sky uppercut will be helped. Adamant Nature, as Flamethrower/Fire Blast will not suffer tioo much. 252 Speed, 252 Attack, and 4 HP EVs.

So to those that never read the Subject...
Please help me with my Pokemon Team to beat the gym leaders and all the way to the elite 4... I am not sure if you need nature...
I just need to beat them.... Forget about the Battle frontier here please (and Bold is allow, not color... lol)
I can only get free TM from that gambling place! i cannot trade Pokemon for Tm breeding and such, so please pick any moves available from the Electric Gym city gambling area
Leaf Blade
Fury Cutter
Agility
uh... Slam(?)
Hydro Pump/ Surf (pick one for me, is a water move anyways)
Ice Beam (KO those Caturne and Shiftry, Wyona, and rock, and dragon)
Wing Attack
Super Sonic/ Mist (tricky... with my experience in LG, the Kingdra used too much dragon dance to beat them)
I was thinking of some normal type Pokemon which supposing resist to ghost...
thunderbolt (TM from that gambling place)
Yawn
Shadowball
.... Maybe Focus Punch?
this is a theory to beat the dark Pokemon, please suggest other pokemon too!
Moonlight
Signal Beam
Tail Glow
?
a must of fire pokemon
Overheat/flamethrower
Iron Defense
Amnesia
?
Can I pause here?
and it is strange that I beat my LG elite 4 with mainly 5 pokemon fighting...
But I am really not good at this

There's also Lilycove store. Anyway, I will help as best I can...
Lets analyze the Elite 4 - a dark one, a ghost, an ice, a dragon, and a water (this is emerald).
I'll help with individual gym leaders as well, starting from the electric gym:
Badge #3: Get geodude, and level it up for magnitude. you should kill wattson from there
Badge #4: Catch a marill. level up to azumarill. Proceed to destroy with WATER GUN!
Badge #5: Get a hariyama. You need it. Arm thrust should get most of them. Geodude may come in handy here, because it resists normal moves.
Badge #6: T-bolt, Ice beam will be your best friend. Manectric with t-bolt, azumarill with ice beam, and you are good.
Badge #7: Surf is a friend, trust me. Swellow with steel wing helps. Duskull (if you're lucky) will also help. Levitate is good.
Badge #8: T-bolt, Thunder are your friends.
The elites:
~Sceotile- can you please consider breeding fro crunch? Male + female will give {treeko} with crunch.
~Pelipper - pretty mainstream, IMO. I'd have used Walrein, for the dual STAB in ice beam for Dragons, and surf for power. Surf always > Hydro Pump, for nothing more than accuracy (the pp is also good).
~Slaking: Truant kills it, I have to say. I would have gone Hariyama, or machamp with brik break or fcus punch.
Electric for wallace: I use manectric, but you can use lanturn (Rain Dance, Thunder, Ice Beam, Surf). Keep in mind - don't open with rain dance, as wailord will. open with surf.
Against phoebe - cacturne, or sharpedo. Someone with a good dark move, or the ability to learn shadow ball, and a good stat. Cacturne is good. Sharpedo is good. Thats it, I think
Now, for the elite 4, you need a

I am using Emerald
I paused after that fire gym whose gym leader's name I forget...
well, I barely use that word everyday
so I gues my Slaking and Pelipper theory does not work?
I forget where to catch Chinchou/Lanturns...
I try to remember the wallace, no rain dance strategy.....
But I have this thing against havin weather moves in my pokemon unless they learn naturally...
As for Phoebe... what type of Pokemon do you recommend with a good dark move? How about.... Glalie or even.... like you said, Sharpedo...
but fromwhat Psypokes said, one of her pokemon knows T-Bolt
Peanut-Lover wrote: Badge #3: Get geodude, and level it up for magnitude. you should kill wattson from there
I already did it... with a Graveler I think...
Peanut-Lover wrote: Badge #4: Catch a marill. level up to azumarill. Proceed to destroy with WATER GUN!
I did it with Pelipper, lol
Peanut-Lover wrote: Badge #5: Get a hariyama. You need it. Arm thrust should get most of them. Geodude may come in handy here, because it resists normal moves.
I would proceed with Graveler then....
Peanut-Lover wrote: Badge #6: T-bolt, Ice beam will be your best friend. Manectric with t-bolt, azumarill with ice beam, and you are good. Training another 2 pokemon might be pain to my eyes, and fingers...
Magnectrike? doesn;t Skarmony's steel resist electric and so with the dragn? I also assume Magnectrike for later on in the Wallace battle...
can I make it Pelipper with Ice Beam? (But I do have a somewhat level 20 Azumarill)
Peanut-Lover wrote: Badge #7: Surf is a friend, trust me. Swellow with steel wing helps. Duskull (if you're lucky) will also help. Levitate is good.
You are talking about the double Battle... with Tate and Liza
Might it help to KO those gym-ies trainers?
And don't worry, if I have the patience for 1 Ralts and 1 Seedot back in route 103, and Skarmony in route whatever... then I have the patience for those 1% pokemon.

Mine is a male, and no Ditto until I beat E4 :/

That is it? What about Kingdra and Whiscash.... lol... i guess my Sceptile can help clear some water or two... (and of course i know the ground type resistant)

A.....? was this some typo?
so overall.... you are somewhat suggesting the following pokemon:
Sceptile (a female treecko to start with for breeding)
Magnectrike
Walrein (by the way, what is IMO when you talk about Pelipper?)
Hariyama
Cacturne
Lanturn
Am I correct?
Thank you very much Peanut-L !!
But please answer them again

I must have forgot!
Against phoebe - cacturne, or sharpedo. Someone with a good dark move, or the ability to learn shadow ball, and a good stat. Cacturne is good. Sharpedo is good. Thats it, I think
I am using Emerald
I paused after that fire gym whose gym leader's name I forget...
well, I barely use that word everyday
so I gues my Slaking and Pelipper theory does not work?
I forget where to catch Chinchou/Lanturns...
The problem with Pelipper is that, while it looks super cool, the stats are pretty low, and bland...Use it if you want, I just wouldn't. http://www.psypokes.com/dex/psydex/170/location for chinchou location.
Glalie, Sharpedo, Cacturne - Not Glalie, too low SPAtk. You're left with 2 dark types, both of which get decent dark moves (STAB). I personally could go either way. If you are going with Walrein, probably go with Cacturne. Otherwise, sharpedo.
No your typing. Skarmory is very weak to t-bolt (flying is weak, steel is neutral). The tropius and altaria are both 4x weak to ice. the pelipper is 4x weak to electric. Skarms is 2x weak to electric (neutral to ice), and swabllu is weak to both electric and ice.
Leveling up will help. Duskull could be good. Skarms is risky, because solrock has flamethrower (though steel wing will do a number on them). Surf, Steel wing, cacturne's needle arm/faint attack could help. Sharpedo with Surf and Crunch.

Crud, then nvm. Leaf blade, pursuit, Detect (if you want to level it up that much) and something random (dragon claw is semi-useful), or if you have a good hidden power, thats good too. Secrfet power, while not powerful, will paralyze. return is cool for the power.
Peanut-Lover wrote: ~Badge #8: T-bolt, Thunder are your friends.

don't let kingdra in with rain dance - you will lose. I am warning you. Take it out as fast as you can - secret power paralysis is good.
Peanut-Lover wrote: Now, for the elite 4, you need a

must have copied it... probably should have gone just before "Electric for wallace".I've been very careless lately, terribly sorry.
so overall.... you are somewhat suggesting the following pokemon:
Sceptile (a female treecko to start with for breeding)
Magnectrike
Walrein (by the way, what is IMO when you talk about Pelipper?)
In My Opinion. Leet talk and when you are on the chats a lot, it grows on you)
Hariyama
Cacturne
Lanturn
Manectric or Lanturn - depending on how many waters you want. I was just giving logical deductions. But, don't restart - its not worth it.
Am I correct?

well.... I can do it again....
For a female Treecko
Should I tell you I restarted like 4 times in my Emerald game just to "get the right nature" but I STILL can catch those rare 1% or a 4% appearance rate pokemon like Ralts, Seedot, Skarmony in the 4 times of my restart??
I can do it again.... but there is school, which is another completely different topic :/
So I get to train a Cacnea ^_^, Grass type rocks.....
Thank you for the helps, P-L
(calling you P-L is okay, right?)

P-L is fine. Better than Peanut-L
But seriously, you don't have to restart. The Crunch may not even be necessay outside of Phoebe

Well, my friend (w/ LG) demands that we battle Lv. 100 now. I reminded him of the uber legendary clause, so he's taking his and out for and ???
So, in other words, his team is:
{alakazam}{charizard}{snorlax}{omastar} and ???
(^-- not necessarilly in that order)
Now that you know the <s>nemesis</s> opponent, please help craft my team. Man, I'll probably have to clone my rare candies by the 30s...
Two things:
For D-dance Salamence, I should have D-Dance, A-ace, EQ, AND WHAT?!?!?!?!?! I'm never able to decide between Rock Slide and Brick Break.
And is {salamence}{vaporeon} balanced?

elite42 - It obviously won't be balanced with 3 - but consider good counters...
T-tar needs to be killed via cross chop. I find to be excellent, as it also gets knock off, and a giant HP Status. is also cool with Spore, Leech Seed, and Focus Punch. is versatile, and with one of the best fighting moves - Hi.Jump.Kick. Don't forget Shadow Ball, Rock Slide, and 482 Unboosted attack (cb for like...700 attack)
Alakazam could use a (keep in mind - Houndoom is KOd by T-punch from zam before KOing Zam. Sunny Day also helps with getting rid of sandstorm.
Charizard is killed by the , and that should get Rock Slide.
Snorlax is killed by Fighting again, and get him before he curses up. See, hariyama is good here, as it has whirlwind as well. Or leech seed breloom.
Omastar is killed by T-bolt from gardy, or A good grass move (not coming from breloom). Otherwise, good fighting or ground move.
He's also packing a skarmory or forretress, for physical defense. You best pack a forretress yourself...
So you have /{breloom}/{medicham}
You can now get a with Aromatherapy, an with Ice Punch and Cross Chop, WoW Dusclops, Calm Mind Dusclops with Psychic (the thing here is special defense.
deathscythe wrote: Sceptile-modest nature

One grass move is enough - Leef blade is best. for the other 2, take your pick - Leech Seed (McSceptile), Substitute, Crunch, T-punch, HP Ice (Dragons and grasses).
Charizard-modest nature shiny
-fireblast
-flamethrower
-d-claw
-earthquake
Oveheat > Fire Blast, and HP Grass > Earthquake for pure special. Or mixed sweeping - Swords Dance/Dragon Dance, Fire Blast, 2 of Aerial Ace, EQ, Brick Break, Rock Slide.
Feraligator-modest nature
-hydropump
-icebeam
-surf
-d-claw
Ice Beam, Surf, and Dragon Claw are cool, but Hydro Pump is inaccurate, lacking pp, and after factoring in accuracy and chances of stuff, Hydro Pump has an averag power of 96, to Surf's consistent 95. Crunch instead. Or, a bulky sweeper...EQ, Rock Slide, Swords Dance + Brick Break, or Substitute + Focus Punch. Aside from that, all movesets (actually, including the sub-puncher) are inferior to swampert's capability.
Dragonite-modest nature
-icebeam
-flamethrower
-thunderbolt
-d-claw
Now this could run sub-punch, but is just fine like this.
Salamence-modest nature
-Hydropump
-flamethrower
-d-claw
-crunch
Oh, go, no. Dragon Dance, EQ, Rock Slide, Aerial Ace. Don't screw around with this. Or, Choice Band it, and put on Double Edge > Dragon Dance.
Aerodactyl- adament nature
-earthquake
-fly
-hyperbeam
-d claw
Adamant nature - but whats the ability? 2 popular ones are Pressure abuser, and Outright sweeper. Post ability you prefer when you see this (though defensive pressure-abuser is superior for this team).
im a dragon master
Post more a tad later.

PL: woops... for the {gardevoir}{vaporeon}, that was my BF team (sorry for not saying so)... so brick break or rock slide is back to questioning...
my friend is NOT a good teambuilder, and he's too <s>ignorant</s> impatient to EV train or breed for DVs... so i think...
vaporeon -> tyrannitar
absol w/ shadow ball > alakazam
vaporeon or charizard > charizard
salamence > snorlax
something > omastar
BTW my team's {absol}{charizard}{salamence}{metagross}{gardevoir}
Is THAT balanced?
