I am not sure whether this would be better suited to be made in the General Discussion thread, but I think it would be a good thing to add a "Community Chat" thread/sticky where people can go and have discussions about minor things, instead of creating entire threads devoted to them. I saw this on another forum, and I thought it was a pretty good idea. Anyone else agree?

We call it the Chats. Chatrooms are much better suited to that sort of thing. Little random chitchat on a forum takes up LOADS of space on the database, and is just plain slow and sluggish to use. The chats are fast, easy, free, and conveniently available!

If I'm not mistaken, an attempt was made at this.
General Chatter vs. General Discussion
General chatter was for like "How was your day" and "What did you eat".
General discussion was for real discussion like politics, religion, etc.

The separate forum idea didn't work out really well. If you're suggesting a single thread which might or might not be stickied, I think the thread will end up being either very disorganised, or very spammy.
