I would like to ask this. In a thread response above someone mentioned that Double Team is banned along with with OHKO moves. Okay I understand why OHKO moves are banned... but in no sanctioned competition has Double Team ever been banned. Because it is luck? A response also said that Double Team is not strategy. After all there are moves that get rid of evasion modifiers. Most pro players run a debuffer on their team by using Haze etc.

I'm sorry but for hundreds of years martial arts masters have said that avoiding being hit is strategy at its finest. Ever since R / B / Y Double Team has been the bread an butter of competative players. Far be it for me to deny other people rules they battle by. If thats your IN-HOUSE rule then that is fine but it wont prepare you for actual competitions out there. As far as strategy... telling your pokemon to use Stone Edge on Ho Oh is not strategy... its common sense. Taking a Ninjask using Double Team to max and Baton Passing to a Smeargle that knows Lock On and Fissure is called strategy. Although evil. Although this is no longer possible. Lock On worked on OHKOs in Gen 3. Not in Gen 4 and moving forward.

In Gen 1 people didnt let me play my Tangela against them Toxic > Leech Seed > Bind. It didnt mean I couldnt take it to competitions. It was allowed. People got frustrated with me when I used Ludicolo with Rain Dish, Leftovers, Rain Dance, Ingrain, Leech Seed, and Surf. It was not banned from competative play.

So then what is the difference between strategy and no strategy to you? Also I have never been to a competition where the judges banned Tyranitar. The only time Tyranitar was banned is from Draft competitions where players choose 3 pokemon to ban for the other player individually. No sanctioned rules for Tyranitar that I have seen unless it was a event Tyranitar or somethign that knew an exraordinary moveset that was not part of its basic learnset.

Just saying I'm confused by statements saying that rules exist that are not sanctioned rules by Tourney Judges. In house rules... I get and understand and that is fine.

@ RoncelTV You can still do level 100 battles on Wi-Fi, though. You know how to do that, right?

In Gen 5, it will only let you auto-level to 50 over Wi-Fi, not 100. If you want to lv-100 battle on Wifi, each player needs to have actually raised their Pokemon for battle all the way to level 100...

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I was thinking about Gen IV.
