Need to get this place active here.
So how did you get involved with the card game? Did you play it? Collect it? Have the GameBoy game of it? ROM? Or you didn't do a thing?
I did all three personally : collect, play, and play on the GameBoy too.
So now, what did you do?
EDIT: Wohoo! I made the 444 post! ... Sorry very, very lucky numer to me. ^_^;;;

I guess I don'y play tcg because not many people do. It's not very popular here. Even if I wanted to play it, I don't think there would be anyone near me to play, and that I know, there aren't any events in Portugal...

I never really played the Card game , I just collected the cards like most people I knew did.
I couldn't play anyway , because there was no one to play with.
And after a while it started to cost a little too much money , so I stopped collecting them anyway.
A year or so later however , I found the Trading Card Game Boy game in discount ... and I bought it =p
Finished it , but I still play it from time to time.

I collected the cards simply to show off to my friends. But I bought the Gameboy game and easily mastered it, which kinda sucked since I knew that if I went against a real person there's no way I would win with the crappy cards I had.

I started collecting the cards back when they first came out and started gaining popularity. Of course, the money added up, and when I found out about the TCG game, I tried that, because it's too much money to try to get all the cards for a good deck. I think there should be another TCG game, perhaps for DS, because of all the card sets available now it would be quite interesting. But I doubt they'd ever make it because it's not popular anymore.

Well there was a 2nd TCG for the GBC, but they never brought it out to the US. I think you were like a Team Rocket Member or it dealt with the entire Team Rocket organization greatly. There are ROMs of it out on the Internet, but I don't know where.

I collected cards from the Base Set until the first RS set and got bored. I loved the GBC game though.

I make chain decks(reputation) ie: build a deck 2.build a strongerdeck 3.battle the decks 4. repeat 2-3 Replacing deck A w/deck B every time untill the deck you build is weaker than the deck you battle
And Charge-up decks(battle)ie takes time but extreemly lethal when unleashed

I no longer participate in the TCG. I did once, before I got involved with the Game Boy games, but then got sick of it really quickly. I bequeathed all of my cards to a younger buddy of mine, and every so often we get together and have a battle.
But yeah, I specialized in Grass and Electric; I had this killer Promo Venusaur with Mega Drain which I got from the player's guide for the GBC TCG. I loved that thing.

Yes, I know about the second TCG game that never made it to the USA. As for where to get the rom, ever taken a look at my website?

I started collecting right when it came out. I remember I bought a couple of commons to start out for $0.25 each...I think I got a Diglett, Gastly, and something else...
After awhile I became obsessed (remember I was about 9-10 at the time) and made it a mission to buy a pack every single week or every other week...before you know I got the entire Fossil, Base, and Jungle sets completed....
Then I continued with this, all the way to Neo Revelation, when it came to me that the card game was dying out...I think my last holo was a 1/e Ho-Oh from Revelation...
I bought one pack of Destiny, then quit the game altogether. I never played the game, I just collected aimlessly...
I wanted to sell them all but by the time I wanted to, they weren't worth much.
(I remember a recent offer where a guy offered a penny for every card I gave him...and I have about 600+ cards....$6.00? I don't think so...)
I never got into the E-reader thing, although I may get it for the purpose of using the Battle-E cards, and being able to access Latios with an Eon Ticket I have...
And that's it really, but I bought two packs of Hidden Legends for fun, and I pulled a Kyogre EX which was nice...

You might be able to sell your holos/foils on Ebay, Getcollecting.com (Contact Us page: http://store.yahoo.com/getcollecting/contactus.html) might be interested in the others.

I've looked on Ebay a couple of times, and it seems that only recent EX holos sell for somewhat decent prices. Most of the earlier cards start for cheap and have no bids on them. What I wanted to do was make a wholesale and sell all the cards bulk. I'm not sure how much I should sell it for though, as most of the people who make similar sales are still confident that they can get $200+ for their entire collection...

Meh ~ eBay. The only card I could get money for would probably be my Shiny Gyarados, but there is no way I'm selling that. And besides I don't think you can really get a good resale value out of Pokemon cards now. Maybe in a few years/decades prices might go up and then you could pawn them off. I just know I'm keeping mine's. ^_^;; Too bad that a first edition Charizard from Base Set isn't worth $100 anymore.

Aww...I'm stuck with my Base Set Unlimited Charizard(Cost me $20.00 back in the day, but cheap considering I've seen an unlimited one go for $100.00 in stores...)
If I somehow become able sell all my cards, I'm keeping my Fossil Haunter...best art IMO...

I started collecting and playing with my friends right off the bat. Then, when they got tired of it, I would play at the local Wizard's of the Coast store. For some reason, I stopped going the week before my birthday (and I had just received a Birthday Pikachu which would have been at it's best that day). I stopped collecting after the Neo Discovery series, though I did pick up one of the e-Reader sets to see if I could get back in the game. Oh, I also have the GBC game.

Cards? You folks, being of your age, which I am assuming, should invest your money in some more worthy purposes and products. Yet I have a feeling I will be quoted on that when I begin to help out here.

First order of business, I realise that I have already replied to this post, however, for the time being, I will excuse myself as I announce this post to be of some importance.
Second order of business is that I will be moderating this particular fourm. To the new members of the Psypoke community, I would advise you to read the rules carefully, that is, when I have placed them up on the board. And I would highly suggest you follow these future commandments, as I will dicate them in a clear way, and if you do not abide by them, I will make sure that you shall not post in this here lovely establishment.
Lastly, I will indeed be moderating this forum, and the information to come that will be kept in this forum will be much informing, however, it will come slowly, and you must be patient. I am a grown man, and I do not have too much free time to fool with Pokeman. But in all seriousness, I will help, so until then, post what you like, in reason, and within topic.
Have a nice evening you silly kids!
