Everyone's heard of the Nuzlocke Challenge-- an extremely hard optional way to play any main series pokemon game. But few people have heard of a new, unique challenge. This challenge is named after Team Rocket. The rules are as follows:

1) Aside from your starter, you are limited in the types of Pokemon you can use: Poison, Bug, Dark, Ghost, Ground, and certain Normal-types: Rattata or that region's equivalent (Sentret, Zigzagoon, Bidoof, Watchog).
2) OPTIONAL: If you have a cheating device, you can use Pokemon outside those types if they have been captured from another trainer. If you lose with a stolen Pokemon, they have been 'freed' and you must release it. However, you can ONLY steal the last Pokemon from a gym leader or other important character.
3) You cannot leave an area until all accessible trainers have been defeated.
3a) If you're playing a first or second gen game, or a remake, avoid Team Rocket as much as possible. (playing third gen or beyond, crush the opposing team completely)
4) Trading is allowed only with other people taking the Team Rocket Challenge.
5) Your mission is completed when you have captured (NOT defeated any) all of the legendary Pokemon of that region for the glory of Team Rocket!

This is pretty interesting. I'll go ahead and take a whack at it with all 5 of my games (Leafgreen, Emerald, Platinum, Heartgold, Black).

That's a weird objective. Team Rocket was the only team that gave absolutely no craps about legendaries.

Onto catching allll the legendaries!!

I have all 3 legendary birbs B) Magneton got Articuno down to like 2HP and paralyzed my first battle and I didn't have to reload at all.

Had to hack the legendary dogs into the game thanks to save issues with my emulator, so I decided to get them all in to add to the challenge. Raikou was a piece of cake, Entei was a bit more difficult and Suicune was just a pain in the butt.

And I just completed the challenge for Fire Red! Caught Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia and Ho-Oh! I will continue onto Crystal at some point in the near future.

I am going to try this on my Y I think...

Moving onto Crystal now, if I can find a cheat to let me catch trainer's Pokemon >< Everything I've tried so far glitched out my game.

Getting ready to take on Falkner I have:

Onix level 6 caught a Bellsprout from the first guy in Bellsprout Tower and traded with the kid in the Violet City

Ya girl is back with Pokemon Emerald. I randomized it completely and my starter was a female Growlithe! She's level 11.
I also just caught a level 3 Seel from a bug catcher in the forest. No badges yet but we're on our way and I'm very much looking forward to stealing from Wally later in the game
