You've done a very nice job on your list, though I have some suggestions/corrections: -I would say Persian should be classified as a "cat," like Meowth and the Skitty family. It's named after the Persian type of cat, though it really looks more like a siamese and it's referred to as a "classycat," by the Pokedex. Also, Espeon is a cat. It's based after the nekomata, or "demon cat." While Espeon looks a lot nicer than that, it does have many feline features, and the nekomata's split tail. -Similarly, Dewgong is sea lion. This is backed up by the Pokedex, and even though Dewgong's name resembles dugong, it's modelled more after the much sleeker sea lion. Though Seel IS a seal and a cute one at that. ^.^ For that matter, Spheal and Sealeo look like sea lions but Walrein is named after/looks like a walrus. -The Poliwag family should be split up into two sections, but that's getting really nitpicky. Technically, Poliwag, Poliwhirl and Poliwrath are tadpoles, the baby form of frogs. Politoed is the only true frog from the family. -Pinsir is a stag beetle. This is also Pinsir's species. Speaking of which, Volbeat and Illumise are both listed as 'fireflies' for their species in the video game's Pokedex. Your pics are sooooooooooooooooo cute!! But your dugong pictures show manatees! ^_^ But i don't know if they are the same thing or not, I dunno. They're from the same Sirenian order in scientific classification (actually, they're only members of this order besides the extinct sea cow); dugongs are just smaller than manatees. I don't know why they would name Dewgong after this because it's an obviously an sea lion. And I don't think it was a mistake because Dewgong's original English name was going to be "Manaty," or something equally silly looking. Since I'm discussing marine animals, Pokemon needs an orca/killer whale. Yes, we have Wailmer/Wailord, but they're not the same, and orcas are cute. And other suggestions I have are dolphins (one that really looks like a dolphin, debate as many might on Gorebyss), flamingos, and otters.

I looked them up in the dictionary and I agree, they are very close. Wailmer and Wailord are...what? Blue whales, Beluga, or Humpback? I think they are Blue.
