I know that ash has a mother but a father??
I think that Giovanni is ashe's father this is why:
Giovanni was good in the past and he met Deliah,they both married and had a son,but something happened,Giovanni participated in the indigo league and in the final round he said:
-I am dedicating this victory for you Deliah!!
But Giovanni lost and he was angry,somehow he escaped from his house and built an organization called "team rocket" to steal powerful pokemon and then when he catches all of the powerful pokemon he uses them to participate in every league in every region and win it for Deliah,but when ash grew and met his friends:Misty,Brock,Tracy,May and Max he didnt know that his father was doing it for his mother.
So what did you think??

no idea who ash's father is but I know it's not giovanni. Giovanni's son is the G/S/C rival. The scientist guy in the rocket warehouse on the Sevii Islands says something about giovanni's kid having red hair... And there is a certain resembalance between the two...

Guys, I don't think it's supposed to be known and, quite honestly, I don't think it's a matter of creating suspense... it's just irrelevant for the writer, I think.

Anyway, Giovanni being Ash's father is an old rumour/theory, Lintaro just happened to bring that one up. Actually, it's our best bet so far.

Although I remenmber thinking the winner of the pokemon league in the indigo plateau (whose face was deliberatly concealed) could very well be ash's father, I'm not so sure anymore.

Finally, Gardevoir~ may have a point, quoting deliah in an early episode "you're father would be so proud of you!" (of what, I don't remeber, but that's not the point). That "would be" makes us wonder if mister ketchum is still around or not....

Yes he is definetly dead. But he was obviously a great trainer (judging from the first couple episodes where he's mentioned). At first I thought Norman would turn out to be Ash's father, but now we have no idea, and probably never will. You never know the main character's father in R/B/Y or G/S/C either... so I guess that's why they decided not to add a father in the anime

I really dont know. It doesnt seem like it matters. If it did, Ash would be crying all the time over his fathers absence.

It would be an interesting plot twist.

ASH: I'LL NEVER JOIN YOU! YOU KILLED MY FATHER!

GIOVANNI: No Ash. I am your father.

you got that half right.In the magna giovanni's son is silver the kid with the red hair.But in the anime isnt the same since the magna characters dont exist in the anime but when it comes to ''who is ash's father in the anime Im gonna think it will be giovanni why I have a gut feeling about it.

p.s Just saying if anybody is gonna post dont bash each other ive seen alot of forums arguing about who is ash's father and all of them start to hate each other,and the forums start to go down just because of that liitle topic. :roll:

The scientist says this in the actual game (FR/LG). It goes on the fame checker under giovanni's entry.

I know the game supposed to relate to the magna but they show liitle details from the game to the magna.For example the scientist says gio's son has red hair which he's relating to your rival in g/s which it relates to the character silver in the magna

It is quite possible that ash's father is six feet under, but there is another, much more likely explanation;

In the second episode of the first season, when ash gets to viridian city, his mom says over the phone that it took ash's dad 3 days(or 4 i can't remember) to get to viridian city when he started his pokemon journey, indicating that he is not dead but simply still travelling. This would explain his absence in the photo in the third movie.

Good point, or maybe he vanished into thin air. What happened to all the sub-characters in the anime? Think haaaard.
