Hi everyone,

I have made a new system for the forums. The probation system is for people who have come off bans, or for people who are about to go on bans. Basically it gives people a chance to redeem themselves as opposed to being banned straight off.

From now on, when people are banned they will go on probation first. Probation means you will be monitored closely for any bad behaviour. Bad behaviour will simply result in a straight out ban. You will get the 'Probation' rank and avatar, and won't be able to use another avatar. Severe Probation may result in the loss of the ability to send Private Messages but will only be used in cases of major misbehaviour.

Probation will typically last about a month, although ultimately it is up to the admins to let them off whenever they feel like it.

People currently on Severe Probation:

None

It gives people a chance to redeem themselves, which is good, unless they still act like a retard. It must have been quite a decision though.

If they behave bad, they go on Severe Probation, after that, yes, they will be banned.

Yes, while I think that this probation system gives people who deserve to be banned a second chance (and it's funny), I think that only certain "banning" reasons should deserve probation.

Example:

- Insulting or threatening an admin is good for a complete ban.
- Threatening a moderator or member is good for a complete ban.
- COMPLETE plagiarism is good for a complete ban.

- Insulting (and hurting) a moderator or member is good for probation.
- PARTIAL plagiarism is good for probation.
- Huge SPAMming is good for probation.

That might work, try that out. Of course, it's fine as it is now, I'm just giving my opinion.

You all should stop speculating on the reasons why they were banned; that's for the admins to know and not for us to find out. Give them a chance to turn over a new leaf instead of harping on the past.

Edit from (Random Mod) because I can't be bothered making a new post: This forum should be kept for ANNOUNCEMENTS ONLY. Seriously, having to scroll through heaps of posts saying "LOLZ THATS GREAT" is just bloody annoying. This post should relate to important matters such as questions on how the system works and how it may affect you, not stupid things like "WHY WAS SOANDSO BANNED?".

If this keeps up, I'm going to get an admin to prevent users posting in this forum.

what if they get PROBATION and then don't log in for a month.
then after that they come on and nobody has spotted them being naughty
so.....bye bye PROBATION
and then they do bad idiotic stuff again and repeat the proccess....

what I'm trying to say is if they don't log in they can't be idiotic so do you still take off there probation if they are not logged in.

Read: typically. If someone comes back after a month offline and being on probation and then causes trouble then theyre going to be banned. Use your common sense people.

You're quite obsessed with post count, aren't you? Don't be.

Anyway, if you're to look at the original post, probation is step right before someone gets banned. In terms of posting, the only restriction is no avatar (unless you count the huge red words as an avatar). Severe probation might restrict you from private messages.

Dosen't the list of people on probation need updated? I thought I saw someone else on probation. I want to be able to see how many people are causing troble on Psypoke. (I want to be able to be able to know so I will have some advance warning if any of my pals here get booted.)

Fails at life is the rank given to people who have the intention of signing up just to cause trouble. ie. They sign up and just go around flaming or swearing.

To us, these people have no lives if they have the time to sign up to a Pokemon forum just to make fun of people who like Pokemon. Hence they are banned straight away. Giving them a second chance would mean just more flaming/obscenity.

So our response to that is: They fail at life.

Oh, I read one of his posts that said, "Life is something I fail at."
The first person to be banned since the new Probation System, although that isnt exactly an honor.
I guess my query was answered.

Oh the post reading "Life is something I fail at" is an edit by a mod.
In order to get an IP address so the person can be banned, the post needs to stay on the forums, so because it was offensive, the mods edit it...that's what they would have edited it to. They then let the admins know that that user is a trouble maker and the user is banned.

Sorry to bother you Amphy, but me and Kryten were wondering when exactly do we come off probation? is it after the server move?

Chances are, Kryten, is that asking when you get off probation is like asking to become a mod. He's going to take you off eventually, so don't push it

Honestly, I would not worry about that. Both of you are extremely lucky that Amphy has even let you return here.

I wasn't trying to start something, I was just curious, I'm not bothered when I come off, its just that Amphy said it lasted about a month.

Zabuza is now on probabtion with 0 Psybucks since he signed up multiple times and donated to himself. Don't think you can get away with it
